The Replacement
A short sci-fi/comedy film project in Post-Production - Written and Directed by Edward James Beesley
Xander (Jason Thorn) takes a chance on mail ordering a replacement for his recently-ex-girlfriend, Mary (Natalia Massucco). When his purchase arrives, he considers the best and worst case scenarios to turning it on…
Shot over four days in January 2016, the film is a collaboration with a fantastic team of London-based cast and crew.
Currently, the finishing touches are being made to the film's score, by Japanese composer Taichi Imanichi.

A full release is planned for Autumn 2016.
Fragility
A short film script by Edward James Beesley & Magdalena Maria Herfurtner
After having received a cryptic phone call, pleading him to come home, Noah begins a desperate journey from his workplace, through the industrial labyrinth of the city.
While desperately trying to find his way home, memories of his former life begin to surface. We piece together fragments of his passion as a musician, his artistic aspirations, and the intense love affair with Jane, a captivating ballet dancer and an almost ethereal beauty.
As it continues, Noah’s journey becomes a fevered, nightmarish struggle against the increasingly warped maze. This angst is mirrored by the increasing darkness of his memories. Flashes of fear, doubt, resentment and loss all torture his psyche, as his story unravels. We learn the fragile nature of their dreams and the tragic motive behind his journey.
The film will take place in both the cold, industrial present, and a past that reveals the characters’ troubled history. The contrast between these will be stark, with a different filming style and aesthetic. The world, in which Noah finds himself, will be void of colour, nature and warmth. While by contrast, his memories will radiate the dreams and promise of love and artistry, only to be drained away by circumstance and tragedy.
The themes of regret, grief and loss, as well as love and hope, are universal to the human condition. However, it is the nature of the fragile essence of our lives that we believe will resonate particularly with those striving to fulfil their ambitions, in a time when security is scarce.
Fragility is a very human story, and like many human stories, it is filled with its share of sadness and pain. However, it can be argued that the saddest artistic expressions are often the most beautiful.
We had hoped to start shooting the film in 2016. However, budgeting issues have forced us to put production on hold.
